Maxine and Alyss' vision of making a mark on the hair industry started back in 2008. This is how it all began...
Maxine began her hairdressing career in her home of Essex, studying at Paul Falltricks academy. From qualifying she quickly rose through the ranks of graduate stylist to senior stylist in just 2 years. Working alongside Vidal Sassoon trained stylist her creative flare was broadened and skills such as her 'Signature' blow dry was born. After 10 years working in established and reputable salons, Maxine's career took her on a new adventure.
Landing a job opportunity in the tropical isle of Bermuda, she worked in one of the islands exclusive spas. This is where her artistic ability flourished to cater for the high demand in bridal hair styling. In a unique twist of fate Maxine's travels lead her to Pontefract, where from Bermuda she came to work for celebrity stylist and MUA Scott Beszick. In 2008 she entered Wella Trend Vision competition and won regional finalist.
Alyss joined the team in 2008 showing a keen passion for her craft and the talent to interpret it through her hair dressing skills. Her career started at Leslie Francis academy where within 3 years of qualifying her position from graduate stylist to creative stylist escalated. Spurred on by her enthusiasm and expanding skills Alyss entered young stylist of the year for creative colouring and lead way in her own photographic shoot.
She ranges from classic cuts, heavily influenced by Scott's Vidal Sassoon training through to new trends attending refresher courses every six months on up and coming styles, keeping her current with the fast changing fashions of today.
In 2009 Maxine entered Wella Trend Vision awards this time with Alyss as her model, and again won regional finalist for the second year running. This is where they visualised their ambitions and goals to make their mark on the hairdressing industry. Since then the pair have worked on photographic shoots, with Maxine working on commercials and a movie for film4 (The Arbor).
Their paths in their careers have taken them on a journey that has bought them to launch of Mitchell Phillips.
